From the Bank....

So.... Erin Thomas decided to open a bank account... but she gave them the wrong e-mail address. Mine.

"Dear Erin,

Congratulations. Your new BBVA Compass "Compass Basic Savings" account is ready to be opened. Within three business days, the account will be opened and funded. If you requested checks or a check card, you should receive these in 5 to 7 business days.

If you wish to discuss this further with a Customer Service Representative, please send an email to applyonline@bbvacompass.com or call 1-877-737-7727. Please reference your applicant ID # when you contact us.

Thank you for choosing BBVA Compass for your financial needs."

I do happen to use BBVA Compass myself. I did not, however, open a new account. So, either this is an attempt to get me to reveal personal information about myself for identity theft purposes OR, once again, I've been mistaken for someone else. I'll let you know what happens with this one.

I got the same thing... 4 emails since June 2010. What did you end up doing?

I got an e-mail from them today saying the alerts were sent out in error.
